What causes dry, cracked and flaky feet?

Cracked feet are usually caused by inflammation, thickening of the stratum corneum or dry skin, such as tinea pedis and hereditary palmoplantar keratosis, which can thicken and dry the stratum corneum of the foot and cause cracked skin. Long-term use of powders (e.g. talcum powder, zinc oxide powder, furnace glycolite powder, etc.), lotions (e.g. furnace glycolite lotion, compound sulphur lotion, etc.), dry winter weather and long-term exposure of the foot can dry out the skin of the foot, leading to dry, cracked and flaky skin.
