Are dry, cracked feet contagious in summer?

Cracked feet in summer can be seen in tinea pedis, which is contagious and has a high incidence in summer and autumn. Tinea pedis is mainly transmitted by contact, by scratching the affected area with your hands or by sharing shoes, socks, bath towels or footbaths with the affected person. It usually develops on both feet, or spreads from one side to the other. The clinical manifestations are diffuse, rough, flaky, thickened and dry skin between the toes, plantar, heel and lateral edges of the feet, prone to dry cracking and even bleeding, which can be painful.
