People always think that knee pain is the label of sports people, but I do not know that too much or too little exercise can cause knee problems. Have you ever noticed that the knees of quiet, pretty women seem to be more prone to pain? It’s true. As an orthopedic surgeon, I’m often called by female colleagues, both identified and unidentified, when I’m walking in the hospital: “Can you come help me see what’s wrong with my knee? In recent days, the knee pain is again very strong ……” After N years of puzzling, I found that the better-looking girls, the more likely to knee pain. It is evident that knee pain is not a matter of character, but a matter of looks, haha! After playing jokes, want to know the real reason for these knee pains? Today talk about one of the most common causes of front knee pain in young people – patellofemoral instability. For young women, it is mainly lack of exercise and muscle imbalance that leads to the onset. Concept: Patellofemoral instability, also known as patellofemoral instability, means that the patella is running unstably in its proper femoral carriage track. Clinical manifestations: 1. Pain Pain in the anterior knee area. It is more pronounced when walking up and down stairs, climbing or prolonged flexion and extension activities. 2. “Weakness” The momentary weakness and instability of the knee joint when walking with weight, and sometimes even falling. 3. Pseudo-insertion is a momentary involuntary limitation disorder that occurs when extending the knee. Etiology: Loss of normal mechanical stability of the patellofemoral joint, abnormal patellofemoral trajectory, increased joint surface stress, causing pain. There are four categories: 1) abnormalities of the quadriceps and its expansion; 2) abnormal knee joint force lines; 3) abnormal patellofemoral shape; 4) abnormal femoral condyle morphology. Treatment: In most cases, you who exercise a lot may need to rest, and you who do not exercise may need to exercise. But understand: true patellar instability, early attention and treatment is important, otherwise later can lead to patellofemoral cartilage damage, patellofemoral arthritis —- to this stage, the treatment effect is poor. 1, limit activities: when the pain is acute, you need to limit certain activities in daily life, such as climbing, climbing, etc., can reduce the load on the patellofemoral joint and reduce patellofemoral joint wear. Especially when it is understood that a certain activity or action is significantly related to the aggravation of symptoms, avoid this activity or action. 2, quadriceps exercises: many geeks due to the lack of exercise, resulting because of the weak quadriceps force, especially the medial femoral muscle oblique head muscle force is weakened, resulting in patellar instability, so should strengthen the quadriceps exercises, improve the quadriceps and N rope muscle strength ratio. Several exercises are recommended: cycling; swimming; targeted muscle strength training. 3, brace therapy: severe or acute pain, patellar brace has a certain degree of efficacy, but long-term wear easy to lead to quadriceps atrophy. 4, drug therapy: some serious patients can consider the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. 5.Surgical treatment: In rare cases, after detailed examination and evaluation, surgical treatment may be necessary.
