Middle-aged and elderly donkeys are wary of “tourist knees”

In recent years, travel for middle-aged and elderly people has become increasingly popular, but more and more middle-aged and elderly donkeys are returning home with persistent joint pain, even affecting their daily lives, because of knee injuries that occurred during travel. In recent years, a new term has emerged in the academic community – “traveler’s knee”. “Traveler’s knee” is a collective term for a condition in which the meniscus has degenerated, degenerated, or has old damage, combined with ligament damage, patellofemoral arthritis, osteoarthritis, and cartilage damage. Patients with traveler’s knee are different from those with common joint injuries in that they often do not have a clear history of trauma. After middle age, the human knee joint begins to degenerate, as the elasticity of the meniscus within the joint decreases and the ability to resist external injury naturally decreases. Along with age, the muscles around the knee joint, which are used to maintain joint stability, also begin to decline in strength over the years, which means that the muscles around the knee weaken the protection of the joint, especially the protection of the joint for a significantly shorter duration of movement. At this time, if the joint is in a position for a long time and suddenly changes position, the muscles are often slow to respond and cannot contract in time to stabilize the joint, leading to joint damage. There are many common situations in travel that can easily make middle-aged and elderly people come and go. For example, if you take transportation for more than an hour and start sightseeing immediately after arriving at your destination, or if you travel with a tour group, you are prone to muscle fatigue, which can lead to knee injuries. For the prevention and treatment of traveler’s knee, first of all, middle-aged and elderly people should travel for leisure and not just to see more sights and sightseeing. Secondly, we must prepare for our own adaptations before traveling, including the assessment of our recent physical condition, avoid arranging travel when you are first recovering from a serious illness or when you have a cold or diarrhea, and individuals should also combine the usual fitness and exercise intensity to choose the appropriate intensity of travel projects and time. Travel should be dressed casually, should also be equipped with travel straps, knee pads, etc. Travel Tips 1. Move your knee joints frequently during transportation, and when you arrive at your destination, do not stand up immediately to get your luggage. 2. Arrange for a good daily diet and rest. Diet should be rich in protein, vitamins, etc., to have sufficient sleep time, during the tour, daily morning should not have general fatigue, dizziness, weakness, etc., otherwise it means that excessive fatigue has occurred, should reduce the intensity of the day’s activities. 3, travel walking, every hour or so should rest for a while, slow activity limbs, back, rubbing thighs, calf muscles. When climbing mountains should pay attention to sit down regularly to rest. Up the mountain when the joint load is heavy, down the mountain when the thigh muscles are easily fatigued, may cause joint damage.
