Sleeping precautions for otoliths

The main clinical symptom of otoliths is the sudden onset of vertigo due to a change in the position of the patient’s head, and the spinning of the eyes, which often lasts for a few seconds and is relieved. If the otolith is dislodged from the left hemimandibular canal, try to sleep in a right-sided or flat position. In the case of a right-sided hemimelia, consider lying in the left or flat position. Patients should not turn their heads backwards quickly when getting up to avoid throwing the otoliths out. When the patient has vertigo symptoms, try to lie flat to avoid falling, and take oral medications to improve circulation, such as nicergoline tablets and flunarizine hydrochloride capsules. After active treatment, the patient’s condition should improve significantly, and if necessary, reset can be considered again.
