Is AIDS an acquired immune deficiency syndrome?

AIDS is the abbreviation for human acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, which is a chronic infectious disease caused by infection with HIV. In the case of HIV, it mainly invades our immune system and destroys immune cells, which can lead to various opportunistic infections and tumors. Many patients have a long incubation period, usually about 6-8 years, some may reach more than a decade, and some may be as short as 1 year. The length of the incubation period depends on the condition of the individual and the amount of HIV infection. After the incubation period, the patient enters the AIDS stage, which is often referred to as the onset of the disease, at which time the patient will have various opportunistic infections and other clinical manifestations.
