Amniotic fluid is not sticky. Amniotic fluid is a clear liquid, colorless and odorless, and is not sticky. If a pregnant woman feels a discharge that is sticky, it is not amniotic fluid and should be leukorrhea. When the amniotic fluid is sticky and yellow in color, it suggests the presence of overdue pregnancy, and may also be placental insufficiency, etc. When the amniotic fluid is cloudy, purulent or has a foul odor, it suggests that the uterine cavity is infected, which needs to be further examined and dealt with in a timely manner, so as to avoid the fetus and the mother’s health from being threatened. Golden yellow color of amniotic fluid suggests that the bilirubin of amniotic fluid is increased due to hemolysis caused by incompatibility of blood type between mother and child. Yellow-green or dark green amniotic fluid suggests fetal distress. The presence of thick amniotic fluid is also associated with the presence of foreign bodies in the amniotic fluid, i.e., an abnormal increase in meconium and meconium. When amniotic fluid is thick, it is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination. Fetal heart rate monitoring and ultrasonography can be performed to further assess the condition of the fetus; if the fetal heart rate monitoring is normal and the amniotic fluid is normal, observation can be made first. If there are symptoms of fetal hypoxia, terminate the pregnancy immediately if necessary.
