When a pregnant woman enters the second trimester of pregnancy, she may experience a large amount of amniotic fluid or other secretions. At this stage, pregnant women may not be able to distinguish whether the material flowing out of the vagina is amniotic fluid or secretions. Amniotic fluid and secretions are mainly distinguished from the following aspects: 1. Appearance: When amniotic fluid flows out, the pregnant woman will suddenly feel a large amount of water-like material flowing out of the vagina, which is relatively thin. The discharge is more viscous and the amount is not particularly large. 2. color: the color of amniotic fluid is usually clear and transparent or light yellow. The color of the secretion is generally milky white, sometimes yellowish or greenish; 3, taste: amniotic fluid is generally odorless, the secretion may appear fishy; 4, time: the outflow of amniotic fluid is continuous and uncontrolled, and does not change with the change of position. The outflow of secretion is generally phased; 5. Nature: It can be checked by pH paper, the amniotic fluid is alkaline and the pH paper turns blue. If the amniotic fluid is acidic, the pH paper turns orange; 6. Sensation: If the amniotic fluid is flowing out, the stomach will feel a slight drop or swelling. On the contrary, there is no sensation if the discharge is flowing out.
