Treatment of vitiligo, how to apply topical medication?

To treat vitiligo, patients need to apply ointment on the affected area, the most commonly used are topical hormone and tacrolimus ointment. The hormone is wiped twice a day and tacrolimus once, alternately. Patients are advised to apply tacrolimus in the morning and evening and hormone at noon. Generally speaking, the skin on the trunk of the limbs is thicker, and strong hormones are commonly used; while the skin on the head and face will be more sensitive, and medium-acting hormones are generally used. Adult patients are fine if they occasionally wipe the wrong hormone once or twice, but strong hormones can cause greater irritation to children.

Precautions: 1. Just keep the skin clean before applying the medicine, no need to wet the skin in advance; 2. When applying the medicine, the ointment should only be applied to the affected area (i.e. the white part), no need to apply the peripheral skin; 3. If the skin surface is broken or scabbed, these locations cannot be applied; 5.

Generally speaking, topical hormones do not cause obvious allergic symptoms, the skin may be red and hot after use; tacrolimus ointment is slightly more irritating, and there is a certain prickly feeling after application, these are some common reactions to medication, do not worry. However, if the skin breaks down, grows blisters, or has obvious erythema, papules, pain and other symptoms after applying the medication, you need to consult a doctor as soon as possible to adjust the medication.
