There are many causes of foreign body sensation in the throat, and the mechanism varies according to its etiology. Foreign body sensation in the throat may be caused by lesions in the nasopharynx, or it may be due to edema, or if the neighboring organs or the upper gastrointestinal tract are irritated, it may also cause foreign body sensation in the throat through nerve conduction.
