This is the age of face, and all kinds of fresh meat and princesses on the screen can always arouse the ardent pursuit of young people. For doctors, we also like to “look at the face”, because some diseases can be seen from the face, liver cirrhosis is one of them. Cirrhosis of the liver is not new to us, we often hear people say that XX body check came out with a little cirrhosis of the liver. We also often say that hepatitis – cirrhosis – liver cancer is a trilogy of liver disease progression, which shows its danger. The word cirrhosis (cirrhosis) comes from the Greek kirrgos, which translates to yellow, meaning the color of a diseased liver, and osis refers to the state of the pathology. Although we can’t see the color of our liver directly, we can “see the face” to indicate whether we have cirrhosis. Today we will talk about how to tell cirrhosis from the “face”. 1, face: “You look bad today, did not sleep well,” you must have had such a conversation. But a poor complexion is not only the result of poor sleep. There is something that suggests that you may have cirrhosis of the liver. If your face gradually darkens, becomes dark, gray, or even appear “bronze” face should be careful, you may have cirrhosis of the liver problems. Unlike the bronze skin we often talk about from the sun, the skin of patients with cirrhosis has no luster and poor elasticity, especially around the eyes of some patients, like “panda eyes”. This is mainly due to impaired liver function, making the body melanin production caused by excessive. 2, jaundice: this is often said to be a manifestation of liver disease patients, mainly in the eyes sclera, the whole body skin mucosa and urine yellowing, cirrhosis patients jaundice is mainly manifested as jaundice persistent or progressive deepening. This also means that the liver cells are continuously necrotic, which mostly indicates a poor prognosis for cirrhosis. This is mainly due to the damage to the liver, resulting in the obstruction of bile excretion. 3. Spider nevus: As the name suggests, it has a spider-like shape, with a slightly elevated red spot in the middle and many tiny red filaments (i.e. dilated capillaries) radiating out to the surrounding area. It can appear not only on the face, but also on the neck, upper limbs, forehead, back, hands, and other areas. About 70%-80% of patients with cirrhosis will have this symptom, mainly related to the changes in estrogen levels in the body of patients with cirrhosis. 4, liver palm: We often say that “the hand is the second face of a person,” and women who love beauty often pay attention to the maintenance of the hand. And cirrhosis is also expressed in this “second face”. This is what we often call liver palm, which mainly manifests itself as pink spots and patches on the palm surface of both sides of the palms of both hands, large and small fissures and fingertips, with a color like vermilion, but the palm color is normal and fades with pressure. The reason is related to the elevated level of estrogen in the patient’s body. 5, nails: this is not common, some patients will appear spatulate finger, pestle finger or flat nail. Of course, the appearance of these these signals on the face does not mean that you must have cirrhosis, but only highly suggests the possibility of cirrhosis of our liver, the need to timely to the hospital for further examination, so as not to delay the disease, resulting in more serious consequences.
