What is the best time to treat interstitial lung disease?

There is no specific optimal time for treatment of interstitial lung disease, and some of these should be treated as soon as they are detected. Patients with symptoms such as dyspnoea, cough, fatigue, fever or lung disease should seek medical attention as soon as the disease is diagnosed, and treatment should be administered immediately to avoid progression to severe pulmonary fibrosis, which can affect the patient’s life cycle.
