Is dry stool followed by rare foam a sign of bowel cancer?

Dry stool followed by rare foam usually indicates the presence of stomach disease, indigestion, etc., and is not directly related to intestinal cancer. Dry stool followed by thin stool is usually because the early stool is transported to the intestine and not discharged in time, and the water inside is excessively absorbed and becomes dry. Due to gastrointestinal dysfunction, when the peristaltic speed of the intestine is accelerated, the water in the subsequent stool is discharged together with the previous stool before it is fully absorbed, resulting in the phenomenon of dry stool followed by rare foam. In contrast, patients with bowel cancer mostly have alternating diarrhea and constipation, thin or unformed stools, etc. There are also symptoms such as black stools and blood in stools. There are certain differences between the two, and relevant examinations should be conducted to differentiate them. Therefore, when dry stool followed by thin stool with foam occurs, attention should be paid to drinking more water, adjusting diet, and timely improving abdominal CT and colonoscopy to clarify the root cause of the symptoms.
