According to the latest data from the 2009 Report on the AIDS Epidemic (hereinafter referred to as the Report), to date, approximately 60 million people worldwide have been infected with HIV and 25 million have died from AIDS and related diseases.In 2008, there were approximately 33.4 million people living with HIV, 2.7 million new infections and 2 million deaths from AIDS worldwide.
The Ministry of Health today announced the current status of the AIDS epidemic in China. According to the Ministry of Health, since the first case of AIDS patients appeared in 1985, China has reported a total of 319877 cases of HIV infection and patients, including 102 323 cases of AIDS patients; 4 9845 deaths were reported by the end of October 2009.

Among them, the second, sexual transmission continues to be the main transmission route, and same-sex transmission is increasing at a significant rate, which should be of particular concern to everyone. Minister of Health Chen Zhu said in Shanghai on Nov. 24 that sexual transmission has become the main way of HIV transmission in China. In particular, same-sex sex has caused 32% of the total transmission of AIDS, and heterosexual sex has caused 40% of the transmission of AIDS.
