Can deep vein thrombosis cause panic attacks?

Deep vein thrombosis can lead to panic when it dislodges and causes pulmonary embolism and myocardial infarction. Deep vein thrombosis generally refers to the formation of emboli by blood clotting in blood vessels, which belongs to the lower extremity venous reflux obstruction disease, mostly caused by the fracture limb braking for a long time, blood vessel wall damage and other conditions. Localized may cause limb edema, pain and other uncomfortable symptoms. If the deep vein thrombus is not dislodged, it usually does not directly lead to panic, but the local pain can reflexively cause the patient to panic. When the embolus is dislodged and flows with the blood, it may cause pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, etc. Patients may experience chest pain, dyspnea, panic, chest tightness and other uncomfortable symptoms, which may even jeopardize the patient’s life. DVT can be diagnosed by means of ultrasound and angiography, and commonly used treatments include antithrombotic therapy, placement of filters, and interventional thrombolysis. After diagnosis of DVT, active treatment is recommended. It should be noted that there are many causes of panic attacks, such as hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, arrhythmia and so on. It is recommended that the patient consult the doctor in time, improve the electrocardiogram, thyroid function and other related examinations, to further clarify the cause of panic, to prevent the condition from worsening. Deep vein thrombosis is only one of the many diseases that can cause panic attacks. It is recommended to treat deep vein thrombosis in a timely manner and exclude other causes of panic attacks.
