Circumcision is the removal of the excess foreskin on top of the penis to expose the head of the penis. It is an effective treatment for prepuce, phimosis and prevention of its complications, and is a minor surgery for the treatment of prepuce. The procedure takes about 20 to 30 minutes and generally does not require hospitalization, and the danger of the surgery is small.
Indications: 1.Children with prepuce who are prevented from urinating or have recurrent infections due to narrowing of the foreskin sac.
2.Adults with prepuce or those who suffer from recurrent infections due to circumcision.
Circumcision in childhood is normal. Infants with prepuce or children with prepuce should not be circumcised if there are no complications. This is because most circumcisions in children under 3 years of age disappear on their own as they grow older; in other children, as long as the foreskin is repeatedly retracted upward and the opening of the foreskin sac is expanded, the head of the penis will be exposed and surgical removal is not necessary.
Contraindications: Patients who are suffering from complications of foreskin and penile head infection are temporarily not suitable for surgery and must wait for the inflammation to subside before performing surgery.
Pre-operative preparation 1. Local cleaning the night before and on the day of surgery. Clean genitals: from 3 days before the surgery, you can soak your genitals with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution every day. When cleaning, turn the foreskin over to expose the coronal sulcus and thoroughly remove the foreskin scale. However, it should be noted that the foreskin should be reset in time after cleaning to avoid causing penile foreskin imbrication.
2, the complication of foreskin, penile head inflammation, the need to choose drugs and local immersion treatment, after the inflammation subsided before surgery.
3, eliminate tension: because of the initial days after surgery wound will be some discomfort, some people worry that after surgery will have an impact on sexual function, this idea is unnecessary. Generally speaking, circumcision will not affect the normal sexual function.
Post-operative treatment 1, 3 to 4 days after surgery can take sedatives or estrogenic drugs at bedtime to avoid pain and bleeding.
2, after the operation when urinating should try to avoid wet dressing, if the dressing is contaminated by urine, it should be replaced in time.
