Eating greasy food for pancreatitis may not cause noticeable symptoms if it is eaten once in a while. However, if you eat greasy food for a long time, it will lead to recurrence of pancreatitis or aggravation of abdominal pain, bloating, nausea and vomiting.
1. Abdominal pain: is the main symptom. It often comes on after a full meal or drinking alcohol, and is mostly a severe pain in the left upper abdomen. When patients eat too much greasy food, the pancreas will secrete a lot of pancreatic fluid, which can cause the pancreas to digest itself and stimulate the nerves leading to increased abdominal pain.
2. Abdominal distension: co-exist with abdominal pain. When the patient consumes greasy food for a long time, it leads to increasing inflammatory reaction. The more serious the retroperitoneal inflammatory reaction is, the more obvious the abdominal distension is, and the abdominal fluid can aggravate the abdominal distension, which leads to the patient’s defecation and stopping of bowel movement.
3. Nausea and vomiting: characterized by abdominal pain that will not be relieved after the patient vomits. When patients consume greasy food for a long time, the large secretion of pancreatic juice leads to blockage of the pancreatic duct or the opening of the pancreatic duct and bile duct, and pancreatic juice and bile may not be discharged, leading to indigestion and aggravation of nausea and vomiting.
Therefore, patients are advised to eat a light diet, avoid spicy, greasy and stimulating foods, and also pay attention to rest and do not drink alcohol, etc.
