It is not good for children to take antipyretic drugs in too high a dose when they have recurrent fever, or if they do not follow the instructions for taking antipyretic drugs orally, which can damage the liver and kidney function of children. Depending on the degree of the child’s fever, oral antipyretic drugs may be administered according to the needs of the condition, such as a body temperature ≥ 38.5°C. In particular, if antipyretic drugs are not applied initially and only physical cooling is given, the temperature cannot be reduced to normal and persistent high fever can cause the development of complications such as myocarditis in the pediatric patient. In this case, it is beneficial to take oral antipyretic drugs as needed to bring the temperature down to normal without causing discomfort to the child, and to relieve the child’s discomfort caused by the fever without problems.
