Some patients may relapse after vitiligo implantation, especially those with common vitiligo, i.e. symmetrical and sporadic. Because of the long vitiligo treatment period, many patients are difficult to adhere to the conventional treatment and actively request for skin implant surgery. The developmental stage, especially the patients with larger lesion area will have recurrence soon after the implant surgery. It is not advocated to do vitiligo implantation for patients with generalized or progressive stage.
