There are many different causes of fever in children, and they usually include infectious and non-infectious factors.
Infectious factors include viral infections such as measles virus, poliovirus and varicella-zoster virus, bacterial infections such as staphylococcus, enterococcus and streptococcus, fungal infections such as Pseudomonas spp. and parasitic infections such as Hookworm duodenalis and Schistosoma haematobium.
The main non-infectious factors are rheumatic diseases, malignant tumours, drug toxicity, etc.
