The main reason for drinking and vomiting is that alcohol stimulates the gastric mucosa, causing congestion, oedema and even ulceration of the gastric and oesophageal mucosa, which then leads to the manifestation of nausea and vomiting. If vomiting is mild, drinking more water can relieve the symptoms. Severe vomiting can lead to dehydration and pancreatic tearing, and fluid treatment is recommended.
