What are the common clinical manifestations of prostatitis?

  Type I: The onset of the disease is often sudden, with general symptoms such as chills, fever, fatigue and weakness, accompanied by pain in the perineum and suprapubic area, urinary tract irritation and difficulty in urination, and even acute urinary retention.  Types II and III: The clinical symptoms are similar, mostly with pain and abnormal urination. Type II may present with recurrent lower urinary tract infections.  Type III has a variety of manifestations, mainly in the following categories, and patients can present with one or several of them: ① Painful symptoms: regional pain, which can be seen in the small abdomen, perineum, penis, perianal area, urethra, pubic bone, and also in the lumbosacral area.  ② abnormal urination: it can be manifested as urinary urgency, frequent urination, painful urination, increased nocturia, and also incomplete urination, bifurcation of urination, etc.  ③Sexual dysfunction: some patients have reduced libido and reduced erectile function, mostly related to mental factors.  ④Psychiatric symptoms:Due to the chronic pain is not cured for a long time, patients’ quality of life decreases, and they may have anxiety, depression, insomnia, memory loss, etc.  ⑤ Impact on fertility:Some patients with prostatitis may have abnormal semen quality, such as leukocytosis, semen non-liquefaction, hematospermia, decreased sperm quality and other changes, which may lead to infertility.  Type IV: No clinical symptoms.
