What is a slit lamp test?

The slit lamp biomicroscope is the most common examination instrument in ophthalmology and consists of two main parts, the illumination and the binocular microscope, which can magnify the patient’s eye 10-16 times to observe the presence of lesions. The patient is seated as requested by the doctor, who can look through the slit lamp to see if there are any fundus lesions, such as optic neuropathy or macular degeneration.
