What does pain in the liver area indicate in patients with fatty liver

Patients with fatty liver who experience pain in the liver area indicate that hepatocellular inflammation is already present, and this inflammation can irritate the periportal nerves and cause pulling pain in the liver area. In some patients, liver discomfort is caused by acute enlargement of the liver, which pulls on the periportal nerve. It usually requires aggressive anti-inflammatory and liver-protective treatment, as well as rest and not staying up late. Most patients recover in about 2-3 weeks with aggressive treatment, but further management is needed to fully restore health. Because fatty liver is a chronic liver disease, long-term management is needed to cure it, especially early stage fatty liver must be taken seriously. If early treatment is not taken seriously, it may progress to a more serious chronic liver disease.
