In fatty liver, the liver is diffusely enlarged with blunt and thick margins, yellowish color and greasy feeling.
Fatty liver is a clinical syndrome of excessive accumulation of fat and steatosis in liver cells due to various reasons. Mild fatty liver usually has no obvious symptoms and is often found during physical examination. Moderate and severe fatty liver can have loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, vague pain in liver area or right upper abdomen.
The appearance of the liver in fatty liver is diffusely enlarged, with blunt and thick edges, like a dough, slightly tough texture, and may be painful to touch; the color of the liver also changes from red to yellow, with a shiny surface and a greasy feeling. The cut area is also yellow, and the “leaf veins” become thick and clear.
Patients with fatty liver should go to the hospital for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
