Can pre-diabetes return to normal?

It is possible to normalize blood glucose levels in pre-diabetes. Pre-diabetes generally refers to a metabolic state between normoglycemia and diabetes, a state in which blood glucose is abnormal but does not meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes. This stage has no obvious clinical manifestations and is not easy to be detected. The treatment of pre-diabetes mainly includes dietary control and appropriate exercise, such as controlling total calorie intake, controlling body weight, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol consumption, correcting bad habits, and exercising appropriately. It is possible for patients with prediabetes to normalize their blood glucose through lifestyle interventions. Some patients may develop diabetes or remain in prediabetes. Patients diagnosed with pre-diabetes should actively cooperate with doctors for treatment.
