Precursors and prevention of myopia

Eye fatigue some senior elementary or middle school students, reading for a long time, the handwriting will overlap serial, look up and then look at the object in front of you, there is a sense of if or not, floating unstable. Some people look far away for a long time and then move their vision to near objects, or look near for a long time and then move to distant objects, there will be a short period of blurring in front of the eyes. These are all signs of eye ciliary muscle dysregulation and are caused by eye strain. In addition, some children and adolescents may have recurrent chalazion, mydriasis, or blepharitis. Although these children have a visual acuity of 1.0 or higher, they are already “playing” the prelude to myopia. Perceptual hypersensitivity occurs along with eye fatigue, many people also have burning, itchy, astringent, distended canker sores in the eyes, and in severe cases the pain spreads deep into the orbits and even causes migraines, as well as soreness in the occiput, neck, shoulders and back, due to fatigue perceptual hypersensitivity in the sensory nerves of the eyes. Children with good grades may become bored with learning, lack of concentration in lectures, slow reaction, short temper, lack of interest in things they used to love, and decrease in academic performance. At night, they sleep a lot, sweat a lot, are easily tired, and have symptoms such as dizziness and loss of appetite. These changes are also information that myopia is about to occur. These three points are called “myopia precursor syndrome” by ophthalmologists. The first thing that occurs before myopia is not vision loss, but rather neurological symptoms. Myopia is not just a problem of the eyes. Rather, it is closely related to systemic changes. As you can see, there are signs that myopia is occurring. Early detection of myopia precursors can lead to early prevention and treatment of myopia. Myopia prevention is not easy. The following efforts may help prevent myopia from occurring. For those who already have myopia, it can also help to slow down the aggravation of the degree. Prevention points: 1. Maintain a healthy body: pay attention to balanced nutrition, moderate exercise and rest. 2. Prevent eye strain: Avoid long hours of close work. In addition to adequate rest for the eyes, sufficient sleep can reduce eye fatigue. 3, a good reading environment: including: appropriate lighting, good paper quality, clear printing, the appropriate size of the font, the appropriate height of the table and chairs. 4, good reading habits: reduce the fine close reading, eye distance to maintain about thirty-five centimeters, every reading forty minutes to an hour to rest five to ten minutes. When resting, you may want to go out for a walk and look far away to help muscles relax. 5, to reduce myopia environment: look farther away, especially now the implementation of the week off two days, more can use the holiday to the countryside. 6.Watch TV for “principles”: TV set placed slightly below the eye line of sight; the distance between the eyes and the TV set is five to seven times the diagonal of the TV screen; indoor lights can not be turned off; TV screen images need to be clear; every thirty minutes to take a five-minute break, you can use the commercial breaks to close your eyes or get up and walk. 7. Wear glasses correctly: Have your eye doctor examine you before you get glasses; the prescription of the lenses, the angle of the astigmatism axis, and the distance of the pupil should be correct. Regular eye examinations: Every three to six months, especially during summer and winter. 8. Ciliary muscle relaxant treatment: For pseudomyopia caused by excessive ciliary muscle tension, such drugs can be used to relax the ciliary muscle to achieve the purpose of reducing the number of degrees. As for the real myopia, it is not possible to reduce its prescription. However, it can slow the progression of myopia. Studies have found that without medication and proper prescription, myopia will increase at a rate of more than one degree per year. Therefore, proper prescription of glasses and medication can control myopia from increasing too fast.
