Cervical spine disease precautions

Cervical spondylosis needs to be prevented, and attention should be paid to the health care of the cervical spine from a young age. To prevent the occurrence of cervical spondylosis, the following points should be noted: 1, prolonged head down can weaken the neck muscles, increasing the load on the neck muscles, stiffening the muscles in the back of the neck and shoulders, and impaired blood flow circulation. And will compress the nerves, and finally cause headaches, dizziness, palpitations and other “low head syndrome”. Therefore, it is necessary to correct the bad habits of prolonged head down. 2, prolonged head-down workers, the neck for a long time forward flexion, may cause cervical disc protrusion or prolapse, resulting in pain in the back of the neck, numbness and tingling in the upper limbs and other symptoms. Therefore, the neck must be regularly massaged in order to relax the tense muscles and minimize the duration of bad posture. 3, it is best to sleep in a supine position, the head and neck to maintain a natural supine extension, so that the neck can relax. Sleeping pillow height should be appropriate, so as not to be too high and increase the pressure of the intervertebral disc, or too low and make the neck in the supine state, so that the ligament relaxation and internal compression of the spinal cord, resulting in symptoms such as numbness of the limbs. 4, head and neck trauma can cause trauma to the ligaments, intervertebral discs and joints of the cervical spine, which can lead to numbness of the limbs, weakness of the lower limbs, stumbling, stiffness and pain in the neck and other symptoms. When playing sports, head and neck sprains should be avoided, and when riding in a car, the face should be as vertical as possible to the front of the car (i.e., in the forward direction) to prevent “whip-like” injuries from occurring due to the inertia of the head and neck when braking. In addition, the neck and shoulders should be prevented from catching a cold. Avoid muscle spasm and pain in the area, resulting in imbalance of the internal and external balance of the cervical spine and triggering cervical spondylosis. 5, middle-aged and elderly people can often carry out some gentle neck functional exercise, to avoid excessive neck movement, such as neck pain, stiffness and other discomfort, then should be limited in the short term neck activities, in order to facilitate recovery. Exercise method: 1, raise your head slowly upward to look at the sky, to extend your head and neck as far as possible to the maximum, and stretch your chest and abdomen together upward (not simply made into a head lifting exercise). 2, the elongated neck slowly forward and downward movement, as if the rooster crowing posture. 3, and then slowly backward and upward retraction of the neck. 4, back to the ready position. Note: First, each do a (1 to 4) continuous movement takes about 1 minute; Second, upward neck extension and backward neck should be chest and abdomen; Third, combined with the situation of each person can do several times a day, each time can be done several times.
