What are multiple endometrial polyps?

Multiple endometrial polyps refer to three or more polyp-like growths in the uterine cavity, endometrial polyps are common gynecological diseases, the main cause of inflammation of the endometrium, as well as sex hormone disorders caused by excessive hyperplasia of the endometrium. If the endometrium is stimulated by inflammation for a long time, the endometrium is brittle with multiple bumps, which do not subside easily and will gradually increase in size, these are inflammatory polyps. In addition to multiple irregular echogenicity on ultrasound, patients often have abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, and rarely irregular bleeding. If the estrogen level in the body is high, it can also stimulate excessive proliferation of the endometrium. This type of polyp is associated with sex hormones, so it often shows symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, and non-menstrual bleeding. These two types of polyps may exist separately or together, and the exact type needs to be sent for pathological examination after hysteroscopic treatment.
