Erythromycin Ointment for Fire Boils How Many Times a Day

Erythromycin ointment for fire boils can usually be applied 2-3 times a day and usually provides relief in about 3-5 days of use. Erythromycin ointment is a macrolide antibiotic drug with a broad antibacterial spectrum, usually used for purulent skin infections and penicillin-resistant staphylococcal infections. Fire boils refer to localized redness, swelling and hot pain that occur on superficial areas of the skin and are acute septic diseases. Therefore, depending on the severity of the fire boil, patients can apply erythromycin ointment 2-3 times a day. If the patient’s symptoms worsen, the number of applications can be increased accordingly. Once the boil enlarges and symptoms such as fever, poor mental health, red and infected skin extension occur, it is recommended to actively visit the hospital and oral antibiotics may be required for anti-infection treatment. For example, oral roxithromycin capsules and amoxicillin capsules can be combined. In addition, patients should pay attention to keep the skin clean during the medication period, avoid eating spicy and acidic, stimulating food, and do not drink alcohol.
