Any surgery is an invasive operation and may bring rare risks or complications that cannot be completely avoided by surgery. The same is true for laser surgery for myopia. Common complications after this surgery include the following: first, overcorrection and undercorrection; second, refractive regression; third, infectious keratitis; fourth, dry eye; fifth, postoperative symptoms such as glare, halos, and monocular diplopia; sixth, interlaminar debris of the cornea; seventh, progressive corneal dilation; and eighth, neovascularization of the cornea. The chances of these complications are usually relatively small and, therefore, do not affect the treatment of the surgery. However, it is important to note that if the expectations of the procedure are too high or if any complications are unacceptable, it is recommended to choose carefully.
