Symptoms and relief of neonatal colic

Neonatal colic is caused by the imperfect development of the baby’s nervous system, weak digestive function, flatulence and easy accumulation of stools, and is a common type of acute abdominal pain in children. Although it is not a disease, but because of the severe pain in the abdomen, the newborn baby will cry loudly and sharply, and sometimes will keep stirring, fist, shaking his head, shortness of breath, cold limbs, etc., and it is not easy to be coaxed, especially easy to happen in the middle of the night, and last a long time, the abdomen will appear the phenomenon of bulging. It will not stop until the baby has cried to exhaustion or after the exhaustion of defecation. You can hold the baby upright and massage the baby’s abdomen, or you can apply baby oil on your hands and gently massage the baby to help the child eliminate the gas in the intestines and relieve the colic caused by flatulence. Or give the child a laxative enema with open cork, which will also have some effect. Having the baby lie prone on a hot water bag to keep the baby’s body warm and comfortable and not to catch a cold can also relieve pain and help the baby ventilate. Pay attention to the baby’s condition, if there are symptoms such as fever, vomiting or pale face, you should seek medical attention immediately. If you are breastfeeding, the mother should pay attention to avoid spicy and stimulating food, and to pat the baby apart after feeding to prevent flatulence from occurring. Neonatal colic can be very painful, and the more you cry, the more pain it may cause, so pay attention to daily care to avoid your baby’s flatulence.
