AIDS is a contagious disease and must be transmitted by an infectious source. Masturbation is generally not an infectious source, so most cases will not be infected with AIDS. However, you should pay attention to hygiene when you masturbate. If you do not wash your hands or if your utensils are not too clean, or if you even get infected with body fluids or other substances that may contain HIV, you may get infected with AIDS. Most people get AIDS from having unclean sex with strangers; others get it from blood transfusions; and some get it from mother-to-child transmission, i.e., from their mothers. Therefore, masturbation is not the usual way to get AIDS.
