The number of days of hospitalization for snoring surgery is related to the cause of the snoring, and the number of days of hospitalization varies depending on the treatment of the cause. Snoring is common for a variety of reasons. If the patient has a deviated septum, the patient usually needs to be hospitalized for 3-5 days after the correction of the deviated septum; if the patient has an enlarged tonsil in the throat and an enlarged soft palate, the patient needs to undergo palatopharyngoplasty, which usually takes 1-2 weeks in the hospital; and if the patient has a hypopharyngeal cyst or an epiglottic cyst blocking the airway, the patient needs to undergo palatopharyngoplasty or HUPP, which takes 1-2 weeks in the hospital. In addition, patients need to pay attention to cold liquid on the day of palatopharyngoplasty, semi-liquid on the next day, soft food after 3 days, and normal diet after 2 weeks; meanwhile, patients can be mobilized to speak more and stick out their tongues more on the next day after surgery to prevent adhesions from affecting pharyngeal movement; and patients need to rinse their mouths frequently to clean the mouth and prevent infection, and prohibit strenuous exercise for 10 days.
