Patients with anaemia can increase the amount of foods rich in folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin C, protein and iron in their daily lives. Foods rich in folic acid include dried nori and shiitake mushrooms; foods high in protein include eggs, chicken and lean pork; foods high in vitamins include grapefruit, oranges, kiwi and papaya; and foods rich in iron include capers, amaranth, pig’s blood and animal liver.
It is important to note that anaemia is not an independent disease, but a clinical syndrome that can be secondary to a variety of diseases and can vary from patient to patient. Therefore, it is advisable to seek active medical advice if you are unwell in general, and your doctor will be able to formulate an appropriate treatment plan and give you sound dietary advice based on your actual condition.
