Can a facelift treat facial palsy?

First of all there are various causes of facial palsy, such as Bells facial palsy due to a blow to the face or waking up with a crooked mouth and slanted eyes. This type of facial palsy can be recovered with early treatment. The second most common type of facial palsy is traumatic facial palsy, which is also known as medically induced facial palsy. After surgery, the facial nerve trunk or neurons are damaged, and facial palsy ensues. There are several types of treatment: first, a fascial suspension can be done by taking the broad fascia of the thigh, sewing it to the corresponding muscle, and then elevating it to the temporal region as a whole. After the surgery, it can be kept basically symmetrical in a static situation. If you want to achieve better results, you can consider a facelift. Since the skin on the face of people with facial palsy is very flabby and there is a lot of excess skin, the excess skin can be removed and the face tightened. If the eyes cannot be closed, which may lead to ulceration of the cornea or visual impairment over time, a metal strip of about two grams can be buried under the skin to relieve the situation according to the specific situation. Thirdly, neuromuscular transplantation can be done to restore the balance of facial movement by anastomosing the broken nerves through the transplantation of muscles on the feet and back, although its efficiency is about 50%. However, no matter which method is used, it is not a treatment for facial palsy as it improves the appearance of the face and does not change the function.
