The main differentiation is made by pathogenic tests. Viral hepatitis D and viral hepatitis B are also viral hepatitis, with viral hepatitis B being caused by the hepatitis B virus and viral hepatitis D being caused by the hepatitis D virus infection.
The clinical manifestations of both are basically the same, with weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and yellow urine, but the viruses are different.
Therefore, clinical differentiation is usually based on pathogenic tests, i.e. antigen antibody test and HDV RNA test, and if the test result shows positive, it suggests hepatitis D virus infection.
