Why does cervical traction become more painful the more you pull?

Clinically, we found through observation that blind traction often causes the following kinds of damage: 1, cervical muscle and ligament static injury, the clinical manifestation is similar to the fallen pillow; 2, nerve root injury, appearing upper limb numbness, pain; 3, vertebral small joint dysfunction, manifesting as neck activity restriction; 4, vertebral artery distortion, reduced blood supply, manifesting as vertigo; 5, vertebral artery plaque detachment, easy to cause gap cerebral embolism; 6, occipital nerve injury, manifesting as headache. 6, occipital nerve injury, manifested as headache. In the clinic also found that some patients are really not unsuitable for traction, but traction method and time is not well mastered, so that the more traction more pain. This kind of situation is mostly due to the patient’s traction weight is excessive, traction time is too long and cause muscle and ligament static injury, so there is increased neck pain; or cause the cervical vertebra attached ligament relaxation, reduce the stability of the cervical vertebra, cause vertebral small joint dysfunction, so there is limited neck movement; and if cause the vertebral artery distortion, so that the blood supply there is reduced, then easy to appear vertigo symptoms. The dizziness you feel may be related to this. A special reminder is that traction is not a panacea, and it is not the only way to treat cervical spondylosis. When you suffer from cervical spine disease, you should first find a professional doctor to help you analyze which aspect of treatment you need and choose the best plan for yourself. If traction is necessary, you must be guided by a doctor and informed of the precautions before proceeding to avoid delaying or even aggravating the condition.
