Criteria for determining vaginal cleanliness

  Vaginal cleanliness is a test within the routine white belt test that can be used to diagnose vaginal inflammation. The test involves placing a smear of vaginal discharge under a microscope to determine the presence or absence of inflammation based on the number of vaginal bacilli, white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria. Vaginal cleanliness can be clinically classified into 4 degrees, and the criteria for its determination need to be based on the specific classification and cannot be generalized.  The criteria of vaginal cleanliness are as follows: 1.Degree I: large amount of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, no miscellaneous bacteria and white blood cells, clean field of view, indicating normal secretion; 2.Degree II: medium amount of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, small amount of white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria, still normal vaginal secretion; 3.Degree III: little vaginal bacilli and squamous epithelium, more miscellaneous bacteria and 4.Degree Ⅳ: no vaginal bacilli, only a few epithelial cells, a large number of leukocytes and miscellaneous bacteria, suggesting a heavy vaginal inflammation, such as mycosis fungoides and trichomoniasis.  Among them, degree I and degree II are normal, while degree III and degree IV are abnormal, which indicate vaginal inflammation and need timely measures for treatment.
