The incidence of microtia is not very consistent among scholars in various countries, with Latin America having a higher incidence than other regions, with Mexico having the highest incidence in the world at 6.4/million, followed by Sweden at 2.35/million, California in the United States at 2.0/million, Italy at 1.46/million, France at 0.83/million, and the lowest being the Czech Republic at only 0.1/million. The incidence rate in China is in the middle, with different incidence rates reported by different scholars. The highest place is Xinjiang at 2.08/million, the lowest province is Inner Mongolia at 0.33/million, and the incidence rate currently agreed by domestic scholars is 1/7000, or 1.42/million. Domestic Zhuang Hongxing et al. study of 3248 patients who visited the plastic surgery hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences for a total of 13 years from 1992 to 2005 showed that the largest number of patients were seen in Hebei Province, and the others were Henan, Shandong, Beijing, Jilin, Hubei, Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hunan, Sichuan and Zhejiang. Of course, the influence of geographical factors and the degree of information development on the number of visits cannot be excluded.
