The cervix is the bridgehead of the female internal genitalia The cervix, the part of the uterus exposed to the vagina, is the place through which the vagina must pass to the uterine cavity. To meet the egg in the fallopian tube, the sperm must squeeze its way through the cervical canal; and the mucus plug in the canal normally blocks outside and vaginal pathogens from entering the uterus. Therefore, the cervix is very important as it is a bridgehead for the female internal reproductive organs. However, because of its position as a bridgehead, the cervix is also vulnerable to attack by vaginal bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. Especially after having sex, the epithelium and mucous membrane on the surface of the cervix can easily break down and pathogens can take advantage of the situation to infect the cervix and make it inflamed. Celiac disease is not a disease when it comes to cervicitis, it is impossible not to mention celiac disease. The previous view, mentioned in all textbooks, was that celiac disease is a pathological type of chronic cervicitis. The actual “disease” of cervical erosion has been deeply rooted in people’s minds, especially after some private hospitals and media “heart” propaganda, almost everyone knows. It is indeed a “disease” that is not light. However, in recent years, more and more studies have shown that celiac disease is not a disease. Why is this? It turns out that there is a natural junction between the squamous epithelium of the vagina of the cervix and the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, and this junction is displaced by changes in estrogen levels in the woman’s body. When estrogen levels are low, the squamous junction hides in the cervical canal, and when estrogen levels are high, the squamous junction moves to the vagina. This is when the new squamous epithelium and the already single layer of columnar epithelium, which is very thin, can reveal the blood vessels under the epithelium and look red to the naked eye, just like celiac disease. Therefore, celiac disease is, to put it bluntly, a physiological phenomenon, it is not a disease! Simple cervical erosion does not need to be treated, but you still need to see a doctor Since we know that cervical erosion is a physiological phenomenon, simple cervical erosion does not need to be treated if there are no other problems. In particular, many of our fellow women attend medical checkups and come to their doctors with the medical report to get treatment for celiac disease, which is completely unnecessary. However, cervical erosion sometimes does not occur alone and may be accompanied by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection of the cervix or other pathological changes. Therefore, it is still necessary to see a doctor. What do you do when you see a doctor? Get tested first! Women who have had sex are recommended to have an annual cervical exfoliation cytology (TCT or LCT) and HPV testing, which are the basic tests to do when going to the doctor. I will follow up with some articles about TCTLCT and HPV. Some cervical erosion still has to be treated When cervical erosion appears, it is often when the epithelium of the cervix is relatively weak and may bleed, as evidenced by blood in the leucorrhea, or a small amount of vaginal bleeding, or even bleeding after sex; some recurrent infections cause increased leucorrhea, odor, yellow color, etc. This is when treatment is needed. If there is a co-infection, some anti-infection drugs are used, and some herbal suppositories are also included; in severe cases, physical therapy, such as laser, cold light or focused ultrasound, can be used, and for those who have completed their fertility mission, LEEP knife treatment can also be considered. If some pathological changes occur, corresponding treatment is needed, which will not be expanded here first and will be written later when there is time. In conclusion, when celiac disease is found, do not panic and do not believe in some “unscrupulous” advertisements, but go to a standardized hospital for examination, in most cases no further treatment is needed, just pay attention to follow-up and regular check-ups.
