What is the normal value of urine protein

The urine protein index can be obtained by testing the total amount of protein in the patient’s entire urine over a twenty-four hour period, which is useful for the detection and analysis of kidney disease in the body. In general, the protein index in adult urine is within 150mg, while the index for children is within 40mg, if it exceeds this range then the patient’s may have kidney disease.

1.Less than 500mg/24h. If the test result is within this range, then it is mild kidney disease, mainly due to long-term strenuous activities or extreme temperature environment resulting in kidney damage, this situation can be recovered by taking some drugs.

2.Between 0.5g-3.5g. The test result is this index range, then the patient may suffer from nephritis, diabetes, hypertension and other diseases, for this case need regular checkups, and a long time to take drugs to get relief.

3.Greater than 3.5g/24h. This kind of patients belong to moderate patients, often occurring in patients with kidney diseases such as nephrotic syndrome. For this condition, it needs to be treated according to the doctor’s suggestion.

For patients with different diseases, their disease symptoms and degree are different, so the protein contained in the urine is also different, which needs to be examined before preparing the treatment, and must not be treated blindly by themselves.
