Urine protein quantitative reference values

If you have a disease in your body, then the amount of protein in the urine may exceed the normal index, usually the index of urine protein test is used above the medical to determine whether you have kidney disease, under normal circumstances healthy adults it is less than 150 mg per 24 hours.

1. Normal value. If you want to determine whether the patient has kidney problems, you should do this kind of urine protein test. This test is done by detecting the total amount of protein contained in the patient’s entire urine within 24 hours. If the index is within the range of 150 mg, then it is negative; if the index is more than this range, then it is positive.

2. Mild values. Sometimes inactive kidney disease occurs after strenuous exercise or in some environments such as high temperature, and this index is less than 500 mg.

3.Moderate value. Generally the index value for patients with nephritis, diabetes and other diseases is between 0.5g-3.5g.

4.Severe value. The index value for patients with severe kidney disease is greater than 3.5g. Severe patients need to do regular tests and pay attention to their kidney condition at all times.

For different indices of protein index, their disease symptoms are different, so patients need to go to the hospital for detailed examination after the targeted treatment.
