Why is it necessary to wrap gauze after double eyelid surgery

Double eyelid surgery is a common cosmetic surgery in outpatient clinics. Although the surgery is small, it is particularly delicate, and since you can go home after the surgery and do not have to stay in the hospital for observation, it is especially important to take care of yourself after the surgery. During communication with post-surgical patients, questions are often raised about asymmetrical double eyelids on both sides after surgery, inconsistent wounds on both sides, etc. These are all normal processes. The reason for this is the surgeon’s skill and the degree of damage to the tissues, the amount of tissue retained, the more tissue retained, the more edema there is, the more swelling will be noticeable, and the reaction of each individual is different. Why is it necessary to dress the wound with gauze after surgery? This is mainly related to the following: one, is able to keep the wound and the outside world relatively isolated sterile, to avoid wound infection; two, is a certain compression effect, to reduce the continued bleeding of the wound; three, is the surgical incision in the post-operative will have some blood seepage, exudate, gauze can be absorbed, so as not to flow around; four, is the surgery wound exposed outside, will also affect the view. So the first day after double eyelid surgery, in order to peek at the effect, do not feel free to tear the bandage gauze, so that one is easy to pull open the wound just stop bleeding, the introduction of re-bleeding, two may also cause infection and so on. Wait until the second day to change the medication and then check it out!
