Not only should hyperthyroidism patients not take iodine-containing food supplements, but they should also refrain from using any iodine-containing foods and medications as much as possible. The highest iodine content is found in seafood, especially kelp, jellyfish, nori, seaweed and moss and seaweed, and patients with hyperthyroidism should also be careful with iodine, iodine throat tablets and iodine contrast media. (1) Give sufficient carbohydrates and fats.
