Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and thyroid cancer

There are constant articles on the internet about the relationship between Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and thyroid cancer, which seems to be the new hot issue. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and thyroid cancer are getting a little bit entangled. Early on, it was said that Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and thyroid cancer are not related, but at the national thyroid conference this year, some clues about it were found. In fact, some of our veteran clinical experts proposed to re-evaluate the relationship between Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and thyroid cancer several years ago, but conditions were limited and no meaningful work was done. One thing can be said, ultrasound imaging of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis should distinguish between thyroid nodules and ultrasound manifestations after thyroid tissue damage. For suspicious nodules, we should be cautious and can do histological examination as early as possible, and surgical exploration can be done if necessary.
