The most common type of jaundice still present in newborns at 20 days is breast milk jaundice. Breast milk jaundice is an exclusionary diagnosis and needs to be diagnosed after excluding other causes of jaundice, such as viral infections and jaundice caused by biliary tract disease. Breast milk jaundice can be diagnosed if there is a significant decrease in the value of jaundice after 48-72 hours of cessation of breastfeeding. If the value of breast milk jaundice is less than 13 mg/dL, no special intervention is needed. If the jaundice is caused by biliary tract disease, ultrasound examination should be completed and further treatment should be performed according to the results.
