Newborn baby 15 days jaundice has not receded what happened

If the jaundice does not subside by 15 days, the newborn should be considered to be due to pathological jaundice. This is because most physiological jaundice subsides significantly in about 2 weeks and at the latest in about 4 weeks. If the child is pathologically jaundiced, prompt treatment is needed. First, if the jaundice is caused by hemolytic jaundice, the jaundice index needs to be monitored, and if the bilirubin level is relatively high, the child should be promptly treated with phototherapy or medication, such as probiotics and oral solution of gardenia jasminoides. If the jaundice is caused by hepatocellular jaundice, the child needs to be given timely antiviral treatment, which is often caused by cytomegalovirus or hepatitis B virus causing hepatitis, thus causing jaundice secondary to the appearance of liver protection treatment. Secondly, if the jaundice is caused by biliary atresia, the child should be treated with surgery or liver transplantation.
