Can untreated cervical erosion lead to cervical cancer?

Many women come in for anti-inflammatory, vaginal suppositories and even microwave and laser treatments because they are worried that untreated cervical erosion will lead to cervical cancer. In fact, most of the “cervical erosion” is physiological, the epithelium of the vaginal part of the cervix is squamous epithelium, but due to the influence of estrogen and other factors, the columnar epithelium appears to be red and granular, which looks like “cervical erosion”. It is important to know that the cause of cervical cancer is due to long-term high-risk HPV infection, not “cervical erosion”. If you are diagnosed with “cervical erosion” during physical examination, there is no need to panic. You should undergo cervical cytology and high-risk HPV screening, and then undergo further examination and treatment if there is any problem. Finally, I would like to remind you again that if you encounter someone who is trying to sell all kinds of treatments for “celiac disease”, you should know that such theories are still more than 10 years old, or non-professional treatments driven by profit, and you should remember that cervical cytology and high-risk HPV screening are the most important ways to prevent cervical cancer.
