Rapid ejaculation and premature ejaculation are not exactly the same. It is only when there is a prolonged period of rapid ejaculation that results in the inability to complete the entire process of sexual intercourse that it is referred to as premature ejaculation. If there is only occasional rapid ejaculation but normal sexual function, it is not usually referred to as premature ejaculation.
